He went up early.  He could still be roaming the halls of his high school enjoying the last couple weeks of his senior year.

That was a bit of an asinine insinuation in that report.  He was a true fresh early enrollee that showed up there at the end of January, and was competing with all the team within a month.  What did they expect, ND returned three starting corners that each started at least 5 games last year, and a fourth highly touted freshman that redshirted last year, and a nickel backer that started at safety...oh and he was competing with Lo Woods too, another early enrollee freshman.  He would have had to be unbelievable to shoot up that depth chart.  When he stepped on the field he was automatically third team, and getting limited reps...same as Lo Woods. 

Puc, it was our compliance attorney who submits the waiver requests, not Leavitt.  Leavitt only found the players, but it was our counsel that submitted the waiver requests to the NCAA which got approved.  The same counsel is still here, now we'll find out if it was Leavitt's luck and correct player choices that got us all those waiver requests, or a keenly worded, well thought out, and researched waiver request by our counsel.  My guess is the later and we should be fine on Boyd's if he joins.

After watching how awful our DB's played in the spring game I think Spencer Boyd will be a welcomed addition.  The more physical, cover corners, with speed we can sign the better off we become.  Eventually we'll find 3 that can lock-down.

Thats obvious. Im just saying people were talking about hoe lucky we will be to get a fourth string CB from ND. He may be good down the road, but he is no T REX. It is a nice get at a needed position if we offer him.
