Of course I was refering to usf going to the ACC when all the conference realignments take place. with FSU and Clemson taken from the ACC we would then be a good fit for the vacant FL school spot in the ACC

Atlantic ACC would be a good fit for USF. IMO. I hope the ACC sees the same thing. Coastal ACC would be closer to USF but I like USF's chances to be dominate in Atlantic ACC.

They gotta want us first. Last I checked, we don't wield enough money or power right now to make them.

Correct, until we start selling out football and MBB on a regular basis we will not be inviting to these big conferences.  To jump early would cost millions we do not have since we need a dining hall, indoor/outdoor hottubs, and a dry cleaner for the football teams socks.  The only reason we got away without big payouts to CUSA was Woodard's ability to talk the BE into taking us and that gave L'ville and Cincy our vote to waive the fees.  We would not have that this time, and there aren't any signing bonuses out there.

Our best bet to make the ACC would be if they decide to pump up as a defensive move against these other mega conferences.  They may come calling seeing the potential from our games with FSU and UM.  They can see that we could be draws in state, maybe build an out of state buzz to fill our home games.

I would say that if we could get to ACC it would help our MBB, and baseball teams.  WBB would see the same tough competition, but would do fine there.

the tampa market will not be ignored

usf is too big

Why not just drop them a note with your Bulls Club renewal.

Excellent idea. I'm sure with all the greenbacks Mazza donates, he has to have their ear on issues of importance such as these.  ;D

you will know more sometime this summer.  I believe mizzou has confirmed that the big 10 wants to decide who they will invite by the end of the summer.  I don't have the link, sorry.

Once the Big10 makes a move you can bet that the SEC, ACC, Pac10, and Big12 will be close behind them and will raid next off-season.

Heck the Big12 might raid this season if the Big10 can manage to trick Mizzou / Nebraska into joining them... The BEast will most likely take Memphis, ECU, or UCiF.

Then next offseason all bets are off... the BEast will cease to exist.

Smazza, are you going to start a new thread exactly like this every single day? And you aren't even saying anything new. Please give it a rest.

It's done pretty darn well as a non-footbal conference. Maybe they never should've gotten into football. (obviously the money lies in football though)

Have you not seen his post count?  He posts over, and over, and over, on the same topics 1000 times often without adding any value to the discussion.  If you need further proof, peruse the Mad Cow sometime.  He has typically 1 - 5 posts on every thread topic and most are saying the exact same things in short terse sentences.  And if someone challenges him to substantiate anything, he ignores it or just spouts off more opinions.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
