The Bucs have preseason home games the following 2 weeks. Last year it was on August 15th.

So this date ties directly in with the Bucs Preseason scheduling. It's just unfortunate that the rays have a nationally televised game at 4pm.

Personally, I think it'd be cooler to do the event in the Sun Dome, and have player competitions. I've heard of other BCS schools who do this, and they have random competitions for the football players (weightlifting, high jump, etc). It'd also be COOLER weather wise, last year was just brutal.

That would be awesome!  Would be so much more comfortable

The Rays have 81 home games I will be at Fan Fest.

Stupid USF.  They should just cancel Fan Fest and close all practices to fans and media.  Maybe disband football altogether.  ::)

Ill take the fan fest over the 2083823 baseball games in each season every year even if it is "USF" night. Just buy your hat online later

Coach Holtz' is supposed to throw out the 1st pitch at the rays game. Maybe FF will be at 12, last 2 hours, then convoy to the trop. Hopefully the team will be on time, and it won't be an issue.

Don't get me started on the cluster fail that last years was. With the pictures and getting the players there late. That was so messed up

That was really bad.  Team picture while we are standing in line?  Then Selvie and Grothe get interviewed while we are waiting on their autographs?

THAT is a totally STUPID move on the part of USF.

Not sure what the Bucs' pre season schedule is, but that could have been the only day the event could have worked.

USF can have Fan Fest when ever they want too... they could had done it in late July if the Buc's are hogging the stadium.

This is true.  The USF/Rays game was set.  Plan Fan Fest around it.
