2010 Our Shirt

Guys its a 5 dollar tee shirt designed by NON Clothing designers. I try every year to give them better ideas and they never want to listen. It's so funny how the official shirt never has a bold USF logo anywhere on it.

The front of the 2007 shirt was good.

This year they should have gone with "It's a Holtz New Era"

I think the Our Shirts from the other years have looked good especially the 07 one. Those designs for this year are just awful.

If I have to choose between the two evils, I'd much prefer to have design 1.

I definitely would like to see more "on the pulse" type of designs on these shirts. Regardless, I'll buy a few for my family to support the school.

When are we going to get pocket t-shrits?  We live in a state where the vast majority of people own a Guy Harvey fish t-shirt. 

That hat is absolutely terrible.

Ugh. Another year, another ugly shirt. I'm kind of confused though. Someone said this was designed by a non-clothing designer. It's obvious this is the case but didn't they have a shirt design contest on facebook? Was this the best thing they got as a response or was SG/Athletics bull-headed and decide that they wanted to go their own way? From firsthand experience, it's probably the latter.

I've designed several shirts for athletics but basically had to quit trying because the designs were being perverted into something I couldn't even be proud of anymore. I've tried designing shirts that I felt were on par with other universities student organizations but to no avail. Their was too much concern over using a logo, image, or slogan wrong that everything basically became a rigid template leaving no room for creative expression.

The problem, in my opinion, is that USF marketing operates like a major corporation. It's like Coca-Cola. They've established a brand and they'll be damned if they're going to stray too far from it.  You'll see a commercial every once and a while but it's all cut and paste. That means until you get someone at the top who'd ready to give USF's identity some swagger, you're going to see the same crap: bull puns and green and gold-lined billboards with >insert person here< giving the bulls sign.

On the first one, the phonetic pronunciation of Bulls is wrong. If spelled, it should be boolz, or in IPA, bʊlz.
