Grothe works out for BUCS today.

IMO I just think they are working him out to see where he is at. If he is healthy grothe could serve as a wildcat option in the nfl. That is one spot he could fit in. He is a strong kid who slides off tackles. His decision making while running is enormously greater than when having to pass. He has a better shot qb'ing and having a better experience doing that somewhere else like arena or overseas. The nfl will not be very fun for him at the qb position and will mainly waste his time. He can gain valuable experience getting playing time elsewhere to gauge if he has a shot in the nfl.

I think it's VERY MUCH a definate he'll be playing in the CFL though.

I didn't want to interject, but I had to. The NFL only allows you to work out 30 draft eligible players a year, except for "local" talent. For the Bucs all USF players fall under the "local talent" moniker. Therefore, they can "workout" all the Bulls they want and it won't count against them. Not to diss on Matt because he was exactly what we needed at qb, but talk to me when someone other than the Buccaneers give the kid a workout.

That being said I think Matt has a chance 1 day to make to to the NFL, but think he will have to go the CFL route first. I wish him all the best and wish I could be as lucky as he is. It would be awesome to make 100k plus playing a game.

What position drill does that look like? To me its either a QB or a Kicker. Im not to sure.

My point is that every NFL team usually invites guys from the local college.

Hell the Fins had a few QB's in last week. One from FAU and the other from FIU I believe.

Great 8 you beat me to it. Rusty was the 2nd best QB in the state the past 2 years. He was 2nd behind THE 2nd COMING. Point is Grothe would have to get training on how to play QB at the next level (NFL or CFL). He didn't have the coaching here.
