On a side note. Great respect from the players after the scrimmage. Personally thanking you for coming, shaking your hand, and being  receptive for autographs / pictures.

I agree. I met all the players I wanted to after the game and got loads of autographs. Coaches too, Holtz stuck around and was very friendly and easy to talk to. It was a great day all around.

I hope Samuels is OK. Losing Ford, Taylor and Samuels, three senior running backs, in one offseason would be bad, even if there are still several other backs on the team. USF Football tweeted that it was an ankle injury, which is good news I think because it looked to me like it was his knee as they helped him off the field.

I like comments from the player, "Felt like a real Division 1 team"-he was referring to having the crowd at the scrimmage...very cool

Demetrius Murray came across as an extremely mature, intelligent individual in that video.  I figure since kids, like Ford for example, are quick to be ragged on for their negative attitudes and/or actions, it would do so some good to commend a player for demonstrating the opposite.

I caught the last third of the scrimmage or so.  I was most impressed by the larger than expected crowd, and the high energy level.

Too bad more people didn't head from the scrimmage over to the baseball double header, it was a great first game and USF was in command in the second game when I had to go home because of the awful sunburn I acquired today. What a great afternoon, loads of fun.

I guess since we can't lose a scrimmage they aren't around?

I mean, unless you want to see the same comments over and over everything was already pretty much said.

BJD was good, every other QB not so much.

D-line was good.

Running game still needs improvement.

Safeties were good.

Holtz is a nice guy.

sounds like the D is ahead of the O, but its way early.

This time of the year that's usually the case.

Bigger all around. D Tackles looked bigger, but still pretty quick. Ends looked bigger not as quick but few are as quick as JPP and GS. Coach has said that we need to be able to stop the run. I think that we will do a better job this year. The O line looked a bit tentative, but we must remember these guys are not used to blocking in a more traditional running scheme ie. pulling  etc...  More schemes for the O will be inserted. As some have said it's early and the D is supposed to be ahead of the O. Much more crisp execution of the huddle. In all seriousness, didn't we have a delay of game after a time out last year. I think that with the beefed up D line we will fare better in B.E. play which is the most important.second in the BE will NOT get you into a BCS game. #51 at LB Sanchez impresses me, made a few good hits and looked pretty quick the "flat" coverage. Time will tell.

This time of year? How about any time of the year, lol.

I was talking about any football team not just our bulls

5 practices till the next scrimmage. I hope some of you that made the first one can be there to analyze the difference. I think with the talk of working on fundamentals as much as I've heard there will be a noticeable improvement.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
