remember, the grahams eligibility would have expired by now if they had come to usf, or at least joey's would have. perhaps stevie would have redshirted that first year to get separation between two guys who basically play the same position. plus, stevie might have left the team. many guys have been unable to deal with mr. mccullum.

obviously no one else thought much of the grahams either otherwise they wouldn't have ended up at ucf (no disrepsect to ucf). good for them that they have worked hard to become top players. the hayes brothers started at western carolina beofre trasferring to georgia wherre jarvis was a superstar. it is tough for coaches to take twins. they only get 13 scholarships and give out 4 or 5 a year. by giving it to twins you essentially give two precious scholarships to identical players.

jr russell has proven to be a much better football prosepct. like the grahams, no big names were interested in him for basketball out of high school, not just usf.

whatever happened to powe?

nick smith is a real good role player on a great team and wouldn't have done anything special at usf. he would be a nice contributor, maybe 25-28 minutes this year, 10-11 points, 7-8 rebounds 2-3 blocks, 2-3 assists.

that was a good group of players that came through.

You bring up an interesting point, a lot of guys that come to USF might have been solid role players at bigger-name schools but chose to come here for an expanded role. You begin to see why they should be role players when asked to carry a bigger load. I think of a guy like BB Waldon who basically does a few things great but there are definate weaknesses to his game. At USF he was asked to basically carry the team on his back for the first two years, then later on in his career there were other scoring threats. If he had gone to say, an ACC school he would not have started right away, and there would be other legit scoring threats and big men to help out on the glass. You can't underestimate how much this affected his overall development as a player. This is just one example, but you can easily think of others.
