Band at Basketball Games

Can someone explain to me why our band looks pathetic at basketball games? I would say theres about 20 people, with 1 tuba player. I remember last year the band was much larger. They sound like **** because there are so few of them.

there are a lot of schools that dont use a band during bball.

but in our situation with so many empty seats...nothing is going to sound good until we really get some fans who are there to cheer and not just network.

I disagree with both of you.

I think our pep band is doing just fine...do you really expect the whole HOT to be there. It doesn't bother me. And I think our fans are getting so much better when it comes to cheering/making noise as the season has progressed. It really has been a dramatic change in atmosphere since the Virginia game.

Yeah they are "just fine" for having 20 members there. What I am asking is why did they reduce the number of band members at the game? It looks weak.

who cares...get fans who are there not for credits but to cheer on the team and the band will be an afterthought.

only complaint i have about the band is they are spaced out too much. but that is probably to make it look like there are more people there than there really is.
