I bet Pitt fans feel like crap now because they just ran a good coach out of town IMO. Way to go, Pitt. Careful what you wish for because Pitt may get a worse coach next season.

he will fail miserably at stanford

he got lucky that temple beat syracuse so pitt could go to bcs game

Prtrino says he's staying in Louisville:

I think Stanford will hire Walt Harris, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad for USF.

Stanford finds its coach

 San Jose Mercury News

Stanford is expected to introduce Pittsburgh's Walt Harris as its football coach at a news conference Monday, a source said.

Harris was offered the job Saturday, the source said, and is scheduled to meet with his players this afternoon to inform them that he will accept the offer. His first day on the job at Stanford might not come for several weeks, however. Harris is planning to coach the Panthers in the Fiesta Bowl against Utah on Jan. 1.

Stanford Athletic Director Ted Leland could not be reached for comment.

Hopefully, some football recruits who were looking at both Pitt and USF will now fall our way.

More specifically, Kendrick Stewart!

Quote from Kendrick after his team, Lakeland, won the 5-A Championship game:

"I feel great. Really great. We had to make some adjustments once we saw what they had. I Defensive tackle Kendrick Stewart (6-2, 285, Sr., Lakeland): Four tackles; one sack, one tackle for loss, and one pass broken up

"I was trying to fight off of the blocks all night. I messed up a few plays, but tried to get it done. They were shooting the gaps and we had to adjust to that. We could sense a little frustration I have Florida, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame recruiting me, all on the defensive side of the ball. Right now I have offers from Pitt, USF, UCF, Notre Dame. I'm waiting on one from Florida State and a letter from Florida too."

Palko was campaigning to keep Harris, so he can't be a happy camper. Usually a Coaching change hurts recruiting, at least in the short term, because of the uncertainty it creates in a recruit's mind. I'm sure that most recruits believe that Leavitt will be at USF for a long time and they don't really worry have to worry about that.

My thoughts exactly.

The Willingham and Thompson firings were bad, but Cutcliffe's is an absolute disgrace. Here's to a nice string of 3-8 seasons in Oxford.
