We will be the laughing stock of the big east.  The fan base is horrible and the students should be ashamed of themselves, 4 wins, 8 wins or 10 wins, you support your team because you like them.  I was extremely disappointed at the lack of numbers, especially since it was against a big east team and a BCS team.  As for it being an 11 o'clock game. that is crap also.  Don't need to sleep all day.

We have had a team now for 8 yrs, and the fan base has not gone up considerably in the last 5 yrs that I have been at the games.  

Can't use the excuse that it will be better mwhen we enter the big east (Pitt this weekend), can't use the excuse that we didn't have a winning team (look at our 9-2 season).

Don't know what the answer is, however it really is ashame.

It's hard to make fans... but once you can hook em' they get more and more interested. I never went to a game until friends of ours took us in my junior year, now I wear my Green & Gold on a daily basis & my office is plastered w/ USF everything. Exitement is contagious - Next season: Bring friends to all the games and Have watch parties in your community. UNTIL THEN, Become a fan yourself, Wear your green and gold daily, Get a licence plate, enjoy the other sports & spread the word ---> get involved!!!

I supported USF's inclusion in the BE.  I actually wanted UCF, too.  I think the two schools would feed off of each other.

A few things:

1.  As nice as Tampa Bay's stadium is you do need an oncampus facility.  Build it for 35,000 with room to expand.  Twenty Thousand fans in 35k doesn't look nearly as bad as it does in your current digs.

2.  Work hard at starting some traditions

3.  Have a fan zone outside the stadium before games

4.  Put your effort into filling the Big East games and any likely OOC game that might be televise first.  We need to project an image that the BE is BCS.  Right now you guys look like C-Ugly Tulane/UAB.

5.  If the students come out for night games--schedule them as much as possible.  Large, active student sections are important in the present and the future (builds your donor base)  Remember, LSU has thrived off of the night game maybe you can, too.

6.   Did I say to build an oncampus stadium?

As long as the marketing dept. and student government sleep and not get the students interested for the games, you can expect the same results for next year. Nothing and I mean Nothing has been done in TWO years by student gov. to get students out and fired up. Not since Grif and Mince has there been anything going on. These two individuals did MORE in their tenure than anything the two we've had since has done in two years. It not only is a shame, but a sham!!!

The marketing dept. put up bi;;boards, FINALLY!!! BUT, they wait till the last momment to do anything in the community. How many people heard of the 4 tix for $40 for the Memphis game? How much did you hear about a  match up with our new Big East Foe? Not much people. We all hear how much we are now in the "Big Time."
