Word is he's bringing the UF WR coach with him to be OC.  The guy is also known as a good recruiter.  He's also bringing one of Monte's assistants at Tennessee in to be the DC, another guy known as a good recruiter. 

The talk is Billy Gonzales will be the OC with Lance Thompson to be the DC.

There is a 25 man limit ... we have lots of recruits and he'll recruit OH/KY/TN, etc

We need L'ville to be better.

AND of course we need to also. And I'll take any edge against UF next season  ;D

Great for Big East !

It affects a lot more than just UF and Louisville. It might actually help the Noles more than anything.. He certainly won't be able to get the interest from some of these top prospects like he did at UF. But if you look at like.. Matt Elam who was already comitted to UF and still taking visits (FSU).. FSU just became a little more attractive. And Jeff Luc just comitted to FSU which apparently Elam likes and Jimbo Fisher was at Dwyer yesterday.

This is good news for the Big East. But bad news for Jimmy and the Bulls.

You guys make me laugh.  He hasn't coached one game as a head coach and you're already conceding to him.  How about letting him prove something first, before we all shudder in fear.

I wouldn't say that I'm shuddering in fear, but I think Strong can recruit and that he's going to bring onboard guys that can recruit.  We do have to see how he coaches, but he's got some good credentials as an assistant.

He's coached under Lou Holtz and Urban Meyer, two very successful head coaches that he probably picked up some things from. 

I think the talent level at Louisville will go up, though it won't be until after this season that we see a big uptick in their recruits since Strong only will have two months and change to put together a recruiting class.

But I think Strong's hire does have the potential to strengthen the Big East and Louisville. 

Definitely a better hire than Kragthorpe.  They get a guy that knows bigtime college football.

Not entirely true; he served as interim head coach for UF in the '04 Peach Bowl, a 27-10 loss to Miami.

Gonzales isn't going.  He went to LSU.
