I tell you what really bothered me - Leavitt's post game interview.  Now there really isn't much a coach can say after that kind of beating, but Leavitt has had enough practice, so expectations are reasonably high.

What does he come up with - basically just says we don't have the talent to compete with a team like Miami, says he is glad we scheduled them cause it shows us how far we are.  Now given how we have played this season, I am not sure anyone can disagree with the guy.  But that isn't what USF has put so much money into, that isn't what 50,000+ fans come to see, and that isn't what most USF fans (and USF for that matter) believed.

I don't know I kind agreed with what he said after the game because I was saying it through the whole game.  USF looked like they were getting beat on the line on both sides of the ball.  What did the defense pressure the QB once?

Since this "offense" clearly does not work, I am only assuming that we don't have the talent in place to run the ball otherwise they would be doing it.  I also believe that the only positive that can come out of these games where they don't even compete is that more of the opportunities for improvement get exposed.

The 'lack of talent' excuse is getting old.  USF does have the talent to run the ball.  Do you think UConn has more talent than USF?  They run the ball all day long and run it on teams with superior talent.  That's coaching, and creating a scheme that works for your players.

Unfortunately, I finally came around during the Rutgers embarrasment - USF's problem is coaching.  There is no way USF should bet dominated by Rutgers like that when the talent is equal.  That is pure coaching.  Can you name 1 game USF won when we outcoached the opponent?

Leavitt's postgame comments bother me too.  Recruiting is only a piece of the puzzle.  You have to have the right leadership at the top, and schemes on both sides of the ball.  Unfortunatley we don't, and I now seriously doubt we ever will under Leavitt.

Disagree about the talent thing.  This has been brought up many times, but how many offensive players from USF do you see in the NFL?  Rutgers has two RBs (if Leonard is still playing), two WRs, a lineman with the Bucs and some others.  UConn sent their RB to the NFL, same with Pitt.  Andre Hall has had a little time here and there but that is about it.

We don't have the talent on offense.  It starts with the O line but with none of our skill position players make it to the NFL either.

You can blame the coaching as well, but the talent just isn't there.

Mike Ford - 5 star offered by #2 Alabama           averages 18.8 ypg 9 games

Jamar Taylor - 4 star signed by #2 Alabama offers from ole miss, miss state, oregon, pitt, wvu         averages 15.0 ypg in 2 games

Dion Lewis - 3 star offered by Tulane, Miami of ohio and pitt

#4 in the country as a freshman           averages 131 ypg

What I find most bothersome is the lack of football knowledge by our (USF) fan base.  Some of the ignorant comments from the crowd are amazing.  Study some basic football over the winter and spring and lay off the beer.

Really dumb fan base.  Not all, but plenty to go around.

this.

can't believe how many bulls "fans" were screaming their lungs out WHEN WE HAD THE BALL, and how many of the same were silent when miami was on offense

STFU when we're on offense, ok?

You better have a talk with the Wide Out on the left side of the formation then.  When we were down at Miami's 2 yard line and we got the 2 false starts, he was out there waving his arms up to get the crowd pumped.  And no, he was not waving his arms down to ask for quiet.  When I saw that I was thinking WTF?

unbelievable what we did to these kids.  No way a kid who plays rb and is getting good advice would choose USF..NOT A FRIGGIN CHANCE!

I saw a few Dion Wilson interviews and the kid is hard to root against.  Not gonna be fun watching him torch us for 3 more years if he doesnt go nfl early.

Someone brought up a great point about not being able to name one game we won where we actually outcoached the other team.  I know I cant, but can name plenty we lost due to coaching.  Zero scheme on offense, looks like a game of 2 hand touch where everyone goes out and just tries to get open.  Pathetic game plan...as usual.

Taylor has battled injuries, it happens.

As for Ford, he hadn't played football in 2 years when he had got here. From what I've hear his attitude sucks. Just one of those big name recruits that doesn't work out because thy refuse to help themselves

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
