Why couldn't THAT Pitt team have showed up against USF?  People talk about our Jekyll and Hyde team.  I know, I know, it was more USF not showing up than Pitt playing great.

Shows more depth in the BIG EAST. Hope USF studys that film against Pitt next season. Lewis is an amazing runner and WR Baldwin is going to be an NFL player two years from now.

This doesn't completely end the possibility of two BCS bids, but Cincy would have to lose next week for any chance at that.  I'd rather Cincy win and have a shot at the NCG.  A Nebraska win in the Big 12 title game may give them that.

This does increase out Gator Bowl chances if we win out and Pitt loses.  We'd likely have three 9-3 teams at the top.  While Pitt would finish ahead of us with just two conference losses, we'd only be one game back and definitely within the Gator Bowl's grasp.  I could see them picking WVU over us, but I doubt they pick Pitt now.  Pitt either needs to go to the BCS or they'll end up in Charlotte or Birmingham.  Big problem for us is if the Gator considers WVU heading to Charlotte last year.  They probably won't care.

I personally want the Gator or PapaJohns.com.

We win out and Cincy wins out and I like out chances to get into the Gator.  The only thing that sucks is that we won't play five BCS conference opponents in bowls if we don't get a second team in.  I just hope the Bearcats can win and things work for them to get into the BCS title game.  A good showing or win there against the SEC will stop any Big East doubters for the time being.

Whoever wins the WV-Rutgers game next week will also be 9-3 and have to be considered a better pick for the Gator Bowl than USF.  WV will be 5-2 in conference and travel better than anyone else in the conference.  Rutgers will be 4-3 (same as USF if USF wins out) and given how they destroyed the Bulls a few weeks ago would make for a better pick as well.

Rutgers won't get picked over us for the Gator.  WVU might, though remember the tough economy and that bowls are looking more locally right now.  I could understand a WVU pick over us, but Rutgers won't travel any where near what USF will.

We'll know in eight days.

It was GREAT for USF and the conference that WVU beat Pitt.  It gives us a chance to look like something other than bottom feeders.  It will only really matter for us though if we can seal the deal now with wins in our last two.  A tall order but it can be done.

I only watched a little bit of the game, but it looks like the key to beating Pitt is to take Baldwin away. Double team him. You're going to have to deal with Lewis then, but I'll take 1 big running play over 4 big pass plays to Baldwin any day.

Bottom line, you can see what years of solid recruiting does. Pitt has some great players, if Wanny was a good coach, Pitt would be extremely hard to beat.
