Ole Gus doesn't like to pass the basketball but when you are making shots like he is who cares if he's a blackhole. Wow 80% from behind the arc for Gus this season.

Good game. Just got back.

Team needs some work at breaking the zone. Gus just turned it on in the middle of the 2nd half.

The more I watch this team, the more my hope for an NIT bid grows. I really think we can get somewhere in the range of 15-20 wins.

Good game. Just got back.

Team needs some work at breaking the zone. Gus just turned it on in the middle of the 2nd half.

The more I watch this team, the more my hope for an NIT bid grows. I really think we can get somewhere in the range of 15-20 wins.

wouldnt 19-20 wins put us in NCAA bid contention?

19-20 wins with one of them in the BE tourney puts us in the ncaa tournament.  You only have to be over .500 to get into the NIT.  I like this team but lets not get too excited.  I see moments of lack of downlow presense that looks like it can kill us in conference play.  Big East is stacked.

Agreed... there is certainly a talent upgrade from past teams here... and the team's best basketball is still in front of them... but even in a down year in the big east (as this is supposed to be)... this league is still as strong as any league in the country.  (Can you imagine if so many people didn't declare for the draft early?  yikes)

NIT is a legitimate possibility... NCAA would be great... but should be thought of more icing on the cake for the season, if it happens.

exactly... if you are scoring as efficiently as Gus is... keep shooting! 

Our guys love that he is making everything... our assist totals have been great so far.  Jones had 10 assists last night.

I know its early... but we have 2 guys in the top 20 in the nation in scoring (Gus at 19 pts per game, Jones at 17.8)

Gus would be leading the nation in 3pt percentage if he had enough attempts.  Leader is 72%, Gus 80%.

Gus is also 36th in rebounding nationally. 

I hope he keeps up this pace... he has been phenomenal.

Gus is also 4th in the nation in FT shooting attempts and FT makes

and 38th in FT % (86%; not bad for a 6'10 guy)
