Free Hoops Tickets to All Students High School Age & Younger

Release: 11/24/2009

TAMPA - The University of South Florida is offering free tickets to all students, high school age and younger, to every men's and women's basketball games during the 2009-10 season.

The tickets, located in all sections, must be purchased on game day at Gate 3 of the Sun Dome Ticket Office.

With this promotion, USF continues to build upon its reputation as one of the best and most cost-efficient gameday experiences in college athletics.

In 2008, USF football was named the best BCS gameday deal, and the Bulls added to that legacy in 2009 with Eat for Free tickets, $10 single game seats and other discounted offers to football games at Raymond James Stadium.

USF will continue to pursue avenues that create one-of-a-kind atmosphere at a value fans have come to expect from USF Athletics.

The USF men's basketball team is off to a momentous start with a 4-1 record that has been piled up against solid competition from multiple leagues.  The women's basketball team is 2-2 on the young season and is settling into a groove one season after winning the 2009 WNIT Championship.

Parents and fans interested in purchasing season tickets are encouraged to call 1-800-GoBulls or log on to www.GoUSFBulls.com.  Fans can also purchase single games tickets on GoUSFBulls.com.

people use to give away bucs, lightning, and rays tickets this is not a friendly town for sports when they are not winning; there are too many alternate activities to spend your time on

plus bball is boring

run with the ball foul shoot 2 foul shoot 2 foul shoot 2 3 point

he's heating up, you're on fire, you're on fire-anyone remember that?

all too often USF's athletic department and marketing department get blasted on this board (sometimes by me)...i just want to take a second to recognize a great idea.

kudos to the person at USF who got this one rolling.

and no its not that we are "that bad" (we play in the best basketball conf in the world) its just that the game goes on no matter if 5K or 10K are there.  electric to keep the sun dome lights on is the same, all the staff still costs the same...only difference is we dont get the ticket revenue, parking revenue, and concession revenue for the other 5K

but i am wiling to beat that atleast 100 more people attend EACH game if this is advertised properly (which i know it will be)

some cases (like this Friday...maybe get an extra 500)  for some of the marque big east games maybe you get an extra 1500.  either way...it doesnt COST us anymore money to let people in (sure, maybe some of the students would of ended up buying tickets) but those who would of bought will be more than made up for with those who wouldnt of and what they would spend on food, drinks, parking, their parents ticket, etc.

again...good job USF
