The trophy should be a giant shrimp cocktail...but I also love the Elian/cuban idea

Beautiful ..... but randy's right, trophies are for rivalty games and this isn't one .... hopefully someday.... and THAT would be poifect.

that jug would not last 30 seconds after a game think of all the players trying to grab it to get their picture taken, the hanle would break in seconds...

I think it would be cool to have a trophy, however:

- yearly rivalry - UF/FSU doesn't have a trophy.  

- sometimes rivalry - Miami/UF doesn't have a trophy (the wooden canoe thingy doesnt count bc I don't think it exists outside of a video game)

- Yearly rivalry, FSU/Miami doesn't have a trophy

Id say those are pretty well established rivalries.  Why would we be any different than the teams and programs we are trying so hard to emulate? And who exactly brings the trophy anyway?  Does Woolard just head out there one day and say this is now a trophy game?    I don't understand the rules.  All i know is i don't want to be an apple cup or an egg bowl.  I'd rather have a cool name for our annual game than a trophy.  e.g. Iron bowl, Civil War, etc

The War Canoe Trophy does exist.  But it was basically retired when Florida stopped playing Miami annually in 1987.

Its now in the UM Sports Hall of Fame.

We are going to play 6 years straight.  And i don't see how it doesn't extend past that.  At least every 2 years.  You know both schools will want it as it will be cheap (travel-wise) and an easy game to sell-out.  

They need to start up the Tamiami Brawl.
