USF studying Web site report alleging NCAA violations

TAMPA - The University of South Florida is reviewing a Web site report that alleges the men's basketball program committed several NCAA violations.

USF sports information director Chris Freet said school officials are still studying the report and have no immediate response.

"When we're ready to comment, we will," he said.

If anything, the theft concerns me much more than the petty violations.

is kinda slimy dojo, crater and leemow were stealing from their teammates, especially Verdajo, a senior in which if i remember correctly was some sort of amateur or semi pro boxer in puerto rico.

Greg is already exposing McMurphy's article as to what it is....and that's total carp.

Jesus Verdejo said that none of the current players were involved in his theft. Jesus said all he had stolen were some clothes and shoes. Once again according to Jesus none of the current players were involved. He keeps in regular contact with his former teammates.

Greg is also asking why would someone wait 4 days to report a theft of such magnitude as the the one Belardo is claiming he had stolen?

because the article states they were suspects but no where does it say the admitted to it.

It is on the same page as the original fanhouse article. It is a little sub-article in a grey box on the bottom right of the page.

Belardo said he suspected Dominique Jones, Anthony Crater and Justin Leemow of the theft because a week before that, his watch, necklace and iPod were stolen from his apartment. The players confessed to the sheriff's department that they took the watch and necklace, but later returned them. Belardo told detectives he found his iPod in Jones' basketball locker at school.

Crater confessed to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's detective that he "took [belardo's] necklace and watch" because he thought "it was Jesus [Verdejo's] stuff."

Greg said during his live chat today that Jesus Verdejo has a different version of the "theft", and does not believe any of the players were involved.  Greg is still digging into the story, and I suspect he'll have a more well rounded version out in the next day or two.
