Why does it seem like we have less comments from coaches or players this year about the games. I feel like there needs to be some explaining on behalf of the coaching staff and more pressure needs to be put onto the coaching staff by media to ask the questions about the consistantly poor play this team displays.

I read somewhere yesterday that Leavitt commented on the jobs the coaches and players did on Saturday.  He was satisified with neither and said everyone needs to get better.  Not sure what else he could or would say.

I'm pretty comfortable in thinking that there is some explaining going on to those that NEED to be explained to ...

and more pressure needs to be put onto the coaching staff by media to ask the questions about the consistantly poor play this team displays.

It's not the media's job, specifically the sports media, to put pressure on anybody, it's their job to report ....

Here is some from Greg's blog.

Coaches and players share the blame: Leavitt said Monday that the coaching staff could have done a better job against Rutgers. But players share the blame, too.

“Anytime you lose a game it’s always a team thing. Anytime you win it’s a team thing,†Leavitt said. “It really is. There’s no question we could always coach better. Even if we win the national championship I’d say we could coach better. That’s never going to change.â€

Leavitt said the way USF has played doesn’t reflect the talent of the team, though.

“We’ve lost three games to three decent teams,†he said. “There’s no excuse. We could have won them all. Pittsburgh beat us real bad and Rutgers beat us real bad. With Cincinnati, we had our shots but I’m not making any excuses. They’re good teams but so are we when we play.â€

Isn't this really the problem? Shouldn't we always play?

They're college players, not robots.

I would bet that UF, AU, UT, TCU, Cincy, and BSU all have 18-21 year old players too.

It's more of a problem with play calling and NOT making any adjustments to the opponent that way I see it. Oh and discipline

When you say the coaches aren't being asked about losses, are you reading the local newspapers? We quoted Canales and Tresey (in addition to Leavitt) in Friday's game story, then came back to the offense and Canales in Saturday's paper. Both coordinators have spoken to the media after every game, something that couldn't be said of their predecessors in past seasons. Questions have been asked and answered. We're asking why the team isn't playing well, we're asking why they're inconsistent, all the things you ask teams after losses. What are the questions you feel aren't being asked?
