If we continue to treat running backs like this we will miss out on a lot of elite level running backs.

Maybe one day we can choose one and try him out for a couple of games. It would help if the Oline blocked someone.

I think calling out fellow Bulls is sort of unnecessary to begin with, but I would venture to say that those in favor of him playing at Pitt were in favor thinking that perhaps he'd become the workhorse.

you may be right but there was no point in using him AT ALL this season. We already lost in conference and we were stacked at RB (at least the coaches think so...). I think Jamar Taylor would have been our starter as a 4th year JR and 5th year SR. Now he and Ford will split in their final year.

Regardless of all the "what ifs" in the future, you need to play to win now.  Not to use an available player that can contribute to a win would send a horrible message to the rest of the guys out there trying to win, not to mention the always observant fan base.

would be nice if we ever went with an underclassman as the primary back so that we could have some continuity with the position from year to year. Seems like each year our main back is one and done; ie Benjamin Williams, Mo Plancher

We have no offensive line because Leavitt is a defensive mind coach and does not focus on getting in a powerful front line.  You will never have a running game without the ability to block and push a defensive line unless you are lucky and get Andre Hall.
