I really think this team has a serious problem with fundamentals.

Our tackling is bad

Our discipline is bad

Our blocking is bad

Our catching is bad

BJD has bad mechanics regarding throwing on the run... you can tell he never squares his shoulders

Our offense seriously looks like we are out there playing backyard football.

This coaching staff really needs to to back to the basics and get these guys playing more solid, disciplined football. They also need to learn to play as a team instead of a group of individuals.

Couldn't agree more. Backyard football has been our game since I can remember. Just think most of BJ's throwing yards have been on long balls that were receptions on broken plays. Sound familiar?

The coaches need to go back to the fundamentals, too. One of the few short yard plays went for what 30 plus yards the other night? I'm no football coach, but wouldn't logic say that a quick dump to the middle or any type of passing short yardage play would beat out blitzes? The O line was clearly not holding up and giving BJ time. Also, I saw Lamar in the backfield more than enough times. Move the effin kid into the slot and see the kid run. He's small, but so what if he's quick then let his feet make the defenders get him.

I don't know if this is me making this up but doesn't the defense look better than last year?  You want to talk about missed tackles, check out last year's games.  It was pretty much a given that you could throw the ball underneath the coverage, one guy would miss diving at the feet and you could run extra yards through some missed tackles.

They definitely got rocked in the PITT game this year but I thought they kept the team in the game in the RU game...  Of course you aren't going to win too many games scoring 0 and getting easily run down while scrambling for your life over and over.
