You think the team showed up against Pitt and Rutgers?  This is the biggest problem with USF Football for the past 5 years (at least).  It will also be the biggest reason casual (and not-so-casual) fans will decide to stay home.  Like other sports, football is an exciting event because you don't know the outcome.  Most fans, however, expect to at least be entertained.  When we are getting blown out, especially against teams most believe we should roll, it is hard to keep the momentum of attendance growth.

Grouper's comment is dead on.  The team simply has not shown up for every game this season.  In a discussion of how many fans will show up for a game, this is certainly relevant. 

I still haven't given up on the season.  If we can beat Louisville, UConn, and Miami, I'll still call it a success.  But the team has to show up.  And that's iffy.

Sure the bandwagon fans will step off and return when we are winning again. Thats what separates us from the real power schools where you would still have 80k+ no matter the record of their team/

and what team would that be?  Fsu is "down" and their stands have a lot of empty seats.  The gaytors had lots of empty seats during the zook era... and as with most gator fans I've met in my lifetime, they'll loose attendance next time they're down.  Such is the fate of Florida teams.   Our transient populace tends to produce bandwagoneers.  

I will definitely be at the Louisville game.  But I wonder how many people that don't show will actually bandwagon fans vs sat morning (activities with the kids, work, etc) can't make it to an early game.   Noon games have never done well with our season ticket holder base (many young families).  It's too bad TV dictates the schedule for us...  Our staple used to be Saturday night football.   I really think usf should work to getting back to that.  

As long as the average keeps climbing (with the exception of the 2007 fluke season) I will keep a positive attitude about the program.
