This is soooo weird...

Think back a few years ago, and CJL was one of the brightest young coaches in the nation, everyone wanted him. Nothing has changed, except for everything has gotten bigger, the stakes, the building the conference, and what now?? Back then we loved how Coach was so excited and so into the game and the passion, and now we think its stupid and old, and tiresome. But that's how he coaches, and how he has always coached. I don't know what it is... I'm baffled how we can beat a decent WV team, and choke after 13 days off (I hate the long breaks) and not be ready?? This was by far the worst loss I have ever seen, let alone it being the 2nd ever shutout. I wish, soooo wish, we could go back to our days of the trailers, our undersized kids that would leave their hearts out on the line, the many humble beginnings this program had, because right now, our team is lost... I dont really have a point, just kinda layin it all out there...

CJL has done a fine job at USF and will continue to do for years to come. The problem lies with the fans who overrate the program. Folks expect USF to be USC which is unrealistic. You are what you are. We are a good football program in an average football conference, that's all, nothing more nothing less.

two thoughts:

1.  When they show CJL yelling, you rarely get to see who it's directed towards.  Many times it is aimed at players, not just officials.

2.  For a team with no heart, we sure had alot of players going down with injuries during the game.

ESPN crew has to fill the silence talking about something in dud games.  its what they get paid to do.  CJL is easy material, takes no effort, talent or research.

I do not have the answers, and I'm not even sure how I feel about CJL's future. BUT, to say that he has done a "fine" job, is ludicrous. He has done a good job getting us to where we are. Just like they said on the game last night. Getting to bowls doesn't cut it in Florida. I don't think that it's just us fans that expect more , it is the possible recruits that expect more, and that will kill us in recruiting.

it doesn't hurt that ESPN is not really a big fan of USF in general

what I can't understand is that in both the Pitt and Rutgers loss-- they interviewed the losing (at the time) coach. When do they do that-- other than for guys like Bowden?

What r u snorting & where can I get some?  We were not playing USC, we were playing Rutgers (until Schiano) arguably one of the worst teams in football for decades.  If we can go beat Auburn, WV, Louisville (back when Petrino had them ranked in the top ten), then we shouldn't have two of our worst losses ever, to Rutgers?
