The big problem is the human polls.  Cincy closing up their schedule with WVU and Pitt could help them in the computers, especially if the rest of us in the Big East do our jobs (translation: us taking care of Miami).

The advantage for Cincy is that the Big East may have a defacto title game this year if both Pitt and they win out to December 5.

How many votes would be lost for Texas if they struggle against an 8-4 K-State game while Cincy looks strong against a 10-1 Pitt squad that pummeled perennial inexplicable love Notre Dame?  It may be a case of Cincinnati only needing to pick up a few votes to jump Texas IF they are ranked #3 and Texas #2.  Texas is ranked #5 in the computers while Cincy is #3.

If Cincy were #3 in the human polls right now their computer ranking would have them vault Texas.  A TCU loss would help them because it would damage Texas a bit because of the linkage to BYU and their win over Oklahoma but it would also give Cincy a boost.  The big issue will be that second SEC team and if they will be #3 ahead of Cincy.  One of either UF or Alabama or both losing before the title game would be nice.  The best chance is really in the Iron Bowl because Auburn might be able to pull it off at Jordan-Hare.  An Auburn win also strengthens WVU's schedule with the computers (though it would have helped more had they beaten Auburn).  And a UF win that send Bama to two losses pretty much would assure Cincy the #3 slot in the human polls.  It is possible that Cincy will be #2 in the BCS if they are #3 behind Texas in the human polls due to Texas' weakness in the computers.

The best scenario is still for Texas to lose one to Texas A&M.
