No...it's not bad to have an off year.

But we're still going to b*tch and moan about it.

Why?

Because we can.   ;)

Surely you don't expect us to sit around blowing bright golden rays of sunshine up the programs butt after losing to Army and suffering the waxing by 'Cards and Bearcats?

We have been spoiled. It would be a completely different flavor on this board had USF struggled in previous seasons.  We haven't . It looked sooooooo easy.

scbull- please  good freshman play

and they have been playing all over the country

leavitt's job is to recruit a qb.he didn't. he put all his eggs in the wrong basket.his fault again.

we have recruited 18-91 yearolds that are not ready to play

there are plenty 18/19 year olds that can play at a top level

i have come to the conclusion you think you know college football but don't.

you are rose colored glass leavitt bowing down type guy

i call it as i see it

and we have problems

i haven't been spoiled

we have accomplished nothing  on the football field in the last two years

there has been no growth as a team

Emphasis mine:

smazza,

After seeing your many posts about our coaching, talent, etc.  I've come to the conclusion, you know very little about college football.  We've recruited QBs, they didn't come.  There is a big difference, physically between 18-19 year-olds and 20-21 year-olds.  The college game is much faster than the college game.  That is why very few freshmen (true or redshirt) that make an immediate impact on a D1A college football team.

Huh? The college game is much faster than the college game?

The college teams will always have young players.  I never heard of a 10-year college veteran.  They only have 4 years of eligibility.

The young player argument kind of fits into the "no **** Sherlock" category.

We need to look in retrospect at all aspects of the program. From coaching, to players, to discipline, to attitude. Maybe having a rough year is good. It forces the issues needed to be corrected. Adversity only makes you better.

only if you learn the mistakes and fix them

action is needed so success can be achieved

Not too many at QB

leavitt's job is to recruit a qb.he didn't. he put all his eggs in the wrong basket.his fault again.

I'm really at a loss on how to respond to this.  How many QBs do you think it would be adequate to recruit? 5, 7, 10?

we have recruited 18-91 yearolds that are not ready to play

If we ever get one of those 91 year-olds, we won't be able to say we're young.   ;D

there are plenty 18/19 year olds that can play at a top level

Plenty, is a relative term.  Sure, some can play right away.  The ones that do, usually have older players around them.  Teams generally don't have 5-8 freshmen on each side of the ball.

i have come to the conclusion you think you know college football but don't.

I'll admit, I don't know as much as some, but I do know more than many.

Nope just a realist.  Trying to keep things in perspective.

i call it as i see it

I have no doubt about that

and we have problems

We all know we have problems.

i haven't been spoiled

I think you're wrong.  Our o-line is playing better than they ever have.  Our running backs and receiving corps look strong.
