Let the long season begin... I hope Stephen F Austin wins their conference this season... or we're screwed. They only returned two starters from last season's 21-7 team... and neither one of them were superstars... just role players.

A win is a win... but this is like our opener against Tenn Tech and us barely getting by them. It sorta told us how rough the season was going to be. Be forewarned...  ::)

with the criticism let us not forget we lost our second leading scorer from last year also one of the few with xperinc with coach mac system (and our depth was suspect to begin with)

with that i will revise my expectations from 14-16 wins to

12-14. i still bullieve

I'm shooting for 10 wins... with three in CUSA. Our foul shooting percentage was quite impressive! I was jacked about that. And the fact that Swift was 5-for-5 from trifecta made me feel good. Two years ago, he couldn't shoot a lick. He's really come a long way. He was always a great foul shooter though. Leather has really matured under McCullum's guidance. At one point during the game, TL got hit with a bow and didn't retailate. His frosh year, he would've whipped the dude's ass or got a stupid foul. Don't get me wrong... I see a lot of positives... I just hope SFA is a real good team or we're in for a long season.

SFA will probably win their conference or be right up there...

10 wins is what I see as well, but hoping for around 13.

There are numerous areas we improved, but we need to improve defensively.  Last year we would have been ecstatic with 76 pts from our offense... the only chance we had of winning any game was to hold opponents under 65.  Now we get 76, and it is from improved shooting, from deep, from the paint, and from the FT stripe.  Hopefully that trend continues.  This game wouldn't have been as close if the other team didn't shoot 20/20 from FT line, but they did.  We committed way too many fouls, but i have a feeling that will improve over time, much like our shooting seems to be.  Plenty of positives to take, and this should translate into 1 or 2 extra wins on those close nailbiter games.
