Just heard on ESPN radio that John Thompson has announced that he will step down as ECUs coach effective at the end of the year....

Why not? He knows the area from his Duke days. His kid wants to go there. There's already a ton of his cronies on staff (though I can't help but think they're part of the reason ECU sucks now). And he won't have to compete or recruit against Florida, which believe me is important -- he is a loyal Gator above all else.
