AND only 11000 attended the faWHO game vs NMSU.  Worse, fiwho only drew 5,000 fans.  How do those two schools expect to go 1-a?

Speaking of poor attendance, uab only drew 11000 fans for their game vs Houston.  So the past two games they are averaging about 6,000 fans per game.

FAU and FIU are transitional !-A-- which from what I understand includes provisions where certain attendance figures must be reached to qualify for full 1-A participation. They are not going to make it so they will have to wait another year. Put some spin on that one Howard.

The one game taht caught my eye was DUKE beating freaking Clemson. Was it raining frogs in NC this weekend?

I'm not sure they have to meet the requirements this year.  I think they could apply for probationary status and work to make it next year.

(for a copy of the rules, click here: http://www.ncaa.org/library/membership/division_i_manual/2004-05/2004-05_d1_manual.pdf)

But it does look like they both may have a problem.
