Women's Tennis signs #14 Recruit

I wonder if she would have signed if we weren't going to the Big East. I think recruiting in ALL sports will pick up significantly:

Women’s Tennis Signs Top 15 American Recruit Courtney Vernon

Tampa, Fla. – Head USF women’s tennis coach Gigi Fernandez announced today the signing of Courtney Vernon of Solon, Ohio, on the first day of the fall signing period.

Vernon is currently ranked No. 14 by the USTA and is considered one of the top American recruits in the country.

“I was not expecting a top American recruit like Courtney to sign on with the program so early,†Fernandez said. “I’m obviously very excited to have her on the team; she is an aggressive player who hits the ball extremely hard.â€Â

Vernon brings an aggressive all-court style of play that will benefit the Bulls in doubles competition.

Vernon will compete with sophomore Gabriela Duch to play at the No. 1 singles position
