The good news is that if USF goes to Hawaii and UH wins a close one, the Bulls players may actually kill someone in the postgame fight if the Warriors pull their usual bad-winner routine.

I don't know why, but that made me laugh out loud.  I guess if you gotta be good at something...

Out of curiosity, who plays in the Hawaii Bowl (or whatever it is called) if UH is not eligible?

If HI is not elg then another WAC school plays in its place.  Its a WAC-CUSA matchup

I have to think there's going to be some major dealing going on this year. Some of the bowl matchups are going to be atrocious if the lesser bowls don't swap tie-ins.

So if USF qualifies, we could go almost anywhere. I wouldn't even rule out the bowl games in Las Vegas or San Jose, because the western states are fatally short of bowl qualifiers. Especially if Utah and/or Cal makes the BCS at-large.

USF Dream Scenario: the Liberty Bowl makes a contingency deal with the Big XII or ACC to take one of their extra qualifiers if they lose MWC champ Utah to the BCS. This would then free up a slot in the Tangerine Bowl, which USF could fill if they get to 6-5.

If I remember correctly, the NCAA banned last-minute contingency deals for bowl games after the Seattle Bowl snubbed USF and our 9-2 record by signing a quick deal with the ACC.  I think all deals have to be signed before the season starts.

I could be wrong, but I thought that is what happened.
