The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly . . ..

The Good -

1.  Offensive gameplan - Hall ran the ball 25+ times and USF threw deep several times.  You have to throw deep to keep the safeties honest and not selling out to stop the run.  I'd like to see more of this.

2.  Fullback and H back - Liked seeing use of these 2 to support the running game.  Next week run some play action off these formations and look for the H back downfield.

3.  Playcalling - Some signs of life here.  Loved the fake to FB and reverse pitch to HB on third and short.  Loved the deep balls.  Loved the committment to the running game.  A little vanilla, but greatly improved.

4.  Chambers and Peyton - Nice to see some guys make plays.  That's what it is all about.  Love the fact that these 2 are Freshmen.

5.  Julmiste - Throws a pretty deep ball.  The potential is there.

6.  Hall - he's the man.

7.  D Line - good pressure on the QB.  Where has this been?

The Bad -

1.  Defense - Improved effort, but still too much overpursuit, bad tackling, and lack of fundamentals.  I can't help but think USF were lucky last night that UAB was off and had a bad gameplan.

2.  Penalties - Same old story.

3.  Hurry up offense - I liked the fact that the coaches did this to get the O into a rhythm, but it was used too often.  This Bulls team needs the O to grind the clock and keep the D off the field.

The Ugly -

1.  Terrance Royal - Leavitt should be ashamed of himselt for letting Royal back in the game.  The way he handled this incident, now I understand why this team has no discipline.

2.  UAB crowd - embarrassing attendance.  Also, thier stadium and facilities were ripped on national TV.  Ouch.

ESPN Sportscenter showed part of the exchange this AM, but I didn't catch what they were saying about it so I couldn't tell if it was positive or negative...
