Big East Lacrosse Weekend 2/20-22

It was a near-flawless weekend of lacrosse for the teams who will comprise the Big East lacrosse conference when it begins play in the 2010 season, and as far as I"m concerned, it was perfect.

The lone loss of the weekend came at UMBC as the Dawgs avenged last year's loss to Rutgers, 17-10. As a Bull, I always enjoy seeing Rutgers lose, so chalk this up as a W for both of my alma maters.

The banner win of the week came on national television as the Hoyas defeated the #3 ranked Terrapins in College Park. The Terps led 6-5 at the half, but a commanding 3rd quarter propelled Georgetown to a 13-10 victory.

In the weekend's highest profile matchup, UVA defeated Syracuse 13-12 at the Carrier Dome in the battle of 1 vs. 2. St. John's beat Georgetown 10-9 in a future Big East matchup.Other scores:
