Shurron Pierson and Tim Jones.  Both were supposed to be seniors this season if I'm not mistaken.  Think the FootBulls coulda put a li'l pressure on the QB this season to make up for the DB lack of experience?

We put absolutely NO PRESSURE on QBs all year this year.  This is part of the problem with the D backfield.  Snowball effect.

Pressure on QB means man coverage in the backfield -- and with a young secondary, I can see problems.

However, a blitz now and then would be nice.

It would also help if our DL learns how to read a screen pass.   It's quite simple... if the OL blocking you gives up REALLY quickly, and you find yourself chasing a QB with three of your friends, chances are he will toss it over your head to a waiting RB.

Much harder in real life than on paper.  It takes experience to direct a defense's aggression in the appropriate direction.  During my second spring practice @Concord College, I was playing DT, the O ran a trap play.  I came across the LOS w/to much aggression.  On a trap the DT is supposed take on the pulling blocker w/your head inside.  Well I didn't even see the 265 lb guard coming (me being 235 lb).  I think everyone for a 1/2 mile radius heard the hit.  I almost blacked out.  The world started getting foggy and I was getting tunnel vision as I lay on the ground.  I could hear the other players congradulating the OL but no see them.  Coach n trainer asked me if I was all right and the world snapped back to being solid.  Point being, defense is "controled" aggression.  It takes time to learn how to read n react to your opponent.

I could be wrong but wasn't a big reason why Shurron turned pro was b/c he was in danger of not being academically eligible?

Tim Jones - will actually be an ace in the hole for us next year b/c we will have a legitimate SEC type  of athlete along the defensive lineman for our BE debut.
