Dont foget when we were down by one TD late in the game with plenty of time for a sustained running drive/attack we went to the cute gimmick offense and ended up fumbling a pass that was 5 yards BEHIND the line of scrimmage giving Army the winning TD.

Good point, Leavittation.  I remember thinking that USF didn't have any running backs on the field as they lined up for that play.  Yet another example of how play calling IS as much of the problem as poor execution.

The call on the goal line, to pass the ball. Once I saw the ball in the air, I knew it was picked. We need to improve 110%, if we even want to think about a Bowl Game.

I have said it in another topic, but doesnt this still come back to CJL!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean it is painfully obvious (not just in this game) that Hobbie is not getting the job done, but neither is COACH LEAVITT.

If the Offensive Cooridnator is making these kinds of mistakes over and over again and again, then why isnt CJL replacing him, or taking over on playcalling?

Stop putting the blame on Hobbie, or explain to me why it ISNT CJL's fault.

FSU has this problem too, but at least Bowden has an excuse why he isnt firing his OC, because its his son.

What is our excuse???? Hmmmmmm????

Is Leavitt like Dungy, sooooooo loyal to his assistants?

Hobbie needs to go!!! Have seen his act. Blackwell's play covered alot of his crap. Rip off big runs all the way down the field and thenpass at the gpal line!!!

The worst is: payton's drop and Bain's TD. Both were way open. Maybe we should have used that sooner to stretch the field. They were playing man-to-man on the outside recievers all night.....HELLO....... :-[

Not defending Hobbie but his O has a QB with no arm.  This team needs a QB that can complete 55% of its passes and passes over 20-30 yards consistently.  Peyton dropping that TD pass makes me wonder about him being a big time player.  Like the movie says, "Big players make big plays.".  Right now USF has a shortage of these types of players.

I don't always agree with the play calling but it has not been horrible.  We are just noticing the play calling now because we are losing.  It all stems from JL, the head coach is responsible for all aspects of the game.  Lets hope that they can learn adjust the offense and defense, remember we have a young team.  Lets see how the coaches react and complete the season.

Jump on Hobbie as much as you want but the defense lost this game.  What I think we all felt was a strength is not.  You don't win many games when you give up 40+ points.  I had that sick feeling in my stomach when I left the game(no, it wasn't too much beer) of this is just like the basketball team.  Biggest attended crowd I think since the first game we played and we we lose.  Are we cursed ?

I was thinking the exact same thing about the basketball comparison ................... good news is that a lot there weren't even paying attention to the game. Maybe we can sucker them into coming back.

What was the last time an offensive coordinator got fired at midseason?

Exactly.....

Hobbie is not going anywhere. I hate his playcalling as much as anyone else but why waste your time for something that is not going to happen. Furthermore who is going to take his place?

Rod Smith?

Shouldn't we fire him too with Hobbie?

The bottom line is that Leavitt is not going anywhere for the forseable future.

Cyber....who replaces him? Carl Franks and he should for next season.

Dabull ....what was the final in the TCU game....ooops 40 + and we won.

The defense didn't lose the game although they helped.  We went 3 and out WAAAAAYYYYY too many times Sat. night. When your RB runs 200 yds. and the secondary is man to man. PLAY ACTION! hell a terrible arm could complete the throw.  Second, yes Peyton should have caught the ball but that was a third down play, get the first down or get a couple of yards to make the feild goal that doinked off the post good.  It's called smart play making.  I'm going to start bringing Fire Hobbie signs. And signs that Plant is looking for a new coach, Hobbie need apply.

And yes CJL is to blame for not yanking Hobbie, after all the yamk players when THEY suck. Wake coach and administration, Hobbie has to go.
