Bulls over noncliching baseball game.

Seriously, I'm a Rays fan. Check my posts on here from the last 4 years. However, I have a hard time justifying the Rays over the Bulls.

I don'tthink it will kill attendance, but it could hurt.

On August 30, the rays/orioles had a home crowd of 34805 (about 85% full) and we still got around 48k to RJS in the pouring rain to see us play a 1AA (FCS whatever) team.  I know the baseball game was over by the time our game started, but I was counting for tailgate time.  I think there are enough people in the area to fill up the trop and RJS.  I love the Rays, but I won't miss a Bulls game.

It's the first playoff game ever for the rays.  It will be the event in town.  I'd miss the second Rays game for the Bulls no problem, but to go to the first game is special...  It's a conundrum.

It's also the first Big East game of the year for USF.  See, this is why I root against every other Tampa team...I didn't grow up here, so I hated when the Bucs won.  I kinda like the Rays just because they were an underdog going into the season and the Boston/Yankee bullcrap is all people talk about in the offseasons, but there's no way I'm going for them now if they are going to draw attention away from USF.

I am actually hoping for an afternoon Rays game around 3:30 and then a quick trip over the bridge to catch the Bulls.  The dates and times for the playoff games are still TBD until all the divisions and best record in AL has been determined.

It's probably going to be bad, attendancewise, even besides the potential rays home game. Fact is that it's a school night and you are going to have a TON of moms and kids not there for that reason. Hopefully those tix will find their way into others's hands.

I hereby swear to never force my (future) children to miss a USF game they would otherwise go to in the name of school...priorities people  ;)

I agree.  I either let them miss school or get a baby sitter.  I can justify kids missing school for a USF game because they are in essence "getting familiar with the college they will be attending in the future."  So, its education related, right?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
