All in all it was a pretty good game.  Houston killed themselves with penalities just like we did.  The one thing they did that we did not was exploit the slant which kept USM from loading up the line.

The referees were pitiful as usual but they blew calls on both teams like the bobbled TD for USM and the defensive pass interference against Houston on a bomb around the 20 yard line.

How many yards did Houston roll up on USM, over 450 for one of the best defenses.  I think Houston has uncovered their weakness which other teams will be taking a good look at.  Almond may miss a few games now depending on how bad his hamstring pulled.

The UH return mans foot clearly crossed unto the playing field so that should have been a safety, the USM TE clearly did not have control and his foot was clearly on the end line.  I think the refs had a problem with the players shoe color, white lines, and green grass.  But give UH their due and you have to applaud USM for scoring late to force OT.  USM has finishing problems, they could not close us out and the did not finish the job on UH.  They won't go undefeated in CUSA, there luck will run out and they won't bust the BCS this year, I think that is UL's job this year.

Houston basically gave that game away with their pathetic punting game and defense on the last USM drive.  Hard to understand, since they stopped USM at the two on the previous drive.

That was a terrible missed call on the OT touchdown.  Even so Houston should have been able to score on their possession and then a PAT wins it.  After all, they ran up over 500 yards and only needed 25 more to score.  

They now have losses to Oklahoma, Miami, Memphis, USM and Rice.  They must really be sick over this one.

Sorry to break it to you Sheriff, but that ball clearly was over the line.  All it has to do is touch the line, not cross it and its ruled breaking the plain.  Its hard not to have the ball cross the line, but the guys arm, let, knee and head all cross the line.  You saw what you wanted.

I agree the USM TD was not a TD, but lets be honest here.  Houston did not even come close to scoring a TD on their turn in OT.  Worse case, it would have gone to a second OT.

It's the CUSA refs. They are the retreads and rejects from the other conferences. Football, basketball...you pick. They all suck.
