Penalty Solution

For every yard we have in penalties, make the coaches show up Sunday morning at 6 AM and run cross fields. Make the team come out and witness it. By the end of Leavitt and company doing 98 crossfields, I think come Monday the message will be clear.

There's nothing gained from the players and coaches doing it together. If the coach is running though, you don't think that week in practice they will take care of the players that broke them Sunday morning?

Come up with some running thing like start and stops and then make every player who didnt get a penalty run. Ergo, the team will put the peer pressure on the repeat offenders.

They may even call a code red on certain players.

I think the big question/problem is why did Leavitt say on his radio show, that he doesn't do anything during practices to address penalties? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

IT"S BECAUSE THEY DON"T TEACH!!! Coaches are suppose to teach, not just be figureheads. There is no excuse for us having penalties year after year in this magnitude. It comes down to coaching.

Agreed!!!   Jim needs to start coaching, the young guys need to be taught!!!

thank the NCAA... i'd rather them spend the time wokring on the plays and getting that stuff worked out than nitpicking over penalites in practice in their limted practice time

If you don't commit the penalties in practice you won't commit them durring the game.  I would hope that JL and staff can multi-task enough to coach the players and drive into the kids heads the need to play penalty free.
