I think all of it needs to be put in perscpective.  Our Bulls are a struggling football team and have been for some time.  We are still re-tooling or perhaps still recovering from the days of MB, KM and the like.  That was a special team that came together just a year to early IMO.  At any rate we are left with a lot of young unpolished athletes and a huge quarterback problem.  Its nothing new, it was made apparent last year.  

Southern Miss is a stronger football team right now.  We had no reason to think we would win or even make it as close as we did.  Which, IMO, says more about what an average, at best, team they really are than how bad we really are.  The fact of the matter is that our two best recruiting classes ever are still being conditioned and most haven't seen any playing time yet.  As much as it pains me to say it beating us is really no big feat for any team who has aspirations of the top 25.  If southern miss was really that good, then that game should have been over at halftime.  It wasn't though, they let a bunch of young struggling kids back into the game, if thats the class of C-USA then what does it say about the quality of that conference.  Our recruitng has sky-rocketed since we got our invite into the Big East, the cost of the deal is that we have to wait a few years before we see its dividends.  

This is definitley a "down" year for us, we haven't had the doubts and negaitivity about the program that we have now, ever since I've been a fan.  If the top of CUSA can only beat us by a touchdown (with some extremely questionable calls ontop of that) then I think that football team, as well as that league, are doomed to remain second tier at best.

You really know what is funny?? UL is the best C-USA team this year by far, so please dont act like you are anything special. UL is playing against biased refs, yet they are far better than little ole USM. Lol. Have fun playing bottom feeders like UCF, UTEP, RICE, ECU, HOUSTON, SMU, etc each year. You are a dying program.
