Beastie is on the mark....guys are not making plays this year.  Particularly at MLB, safety, DE, and QB.

We don't win regardles of the coaching staff without players stepping up and doing what they're called upon.  The promising piece is seeing the coaching staff rotating players looking for the best combination which means they know what they want and they're not afraid to shift players around until they find it.

96, I think Hobbie has done some really good things this year.  The next time I see him I'll give him some serious kudos.  The is the year he seems to have turned the corner, the offense is really using more motion, the base formations are well aligned, the playcalling is better, so are the schemes... I still would like us to get into a huddle, or at least a semi-huddle when getting the plays in, but that's me.

Sheriff, that's too bad about Warren.  I thought he was a junior because Sat. night he was the only defensive player making consistent plays on special teams and defense.

I would not mind seeing Gachette get some playing time if we have the chance to let him get some experience. Not so much because he is the next great QB-- he could be, ya never know--- nope--- simply because if the verbals come in plus Denson stays with QB-- he will be one of 5 or 6 players vying for QB. Imagine that this kid can play like Vick. Can you imagine the controversy if he played at the end of the Army game and went wild? The fans would be sold pretty easy. If Lou G goes in and lays an egg, no doubt these same folks will ruthlessly tear him a new #*$%#%!@ and just say-- "tough crap" about him only being a TRUE FRESHMAN the next time he played and didn't deliver. This is their nature-- they cannot see the future-- it doesn't exist. Only the here and now. They do not embrace the vision that Leavitt has for the program and are unwilling to wait one second longer than they have to see things change until we win every game-- even if those actions hurt us in the long run. That's been my take on fans who call for the axe to fall on the younger players who have barely started developing into the palyers they can be with a bit of patience.

But I am for putting Louis Gachette in there if possible against-- not start, just fill in-- so he at least can say he played a real game this season and we can all know if HE has any promise. Once the rest show up-- he may never see the field at all for USF-- like Kraky.

There really is no reason to give Gachette much playing time, as none of the active QB's on the team will probably be the starter next year.  It would be wasting the rest of the season to have another QB going through the natural growing pains that a fresh college QB goes through.  I think PJ has developed at a fairly normal pace for a college QB with less than 10 games of real playing time.  If we want any chance at 6 or 7 wins and a possible bowl game (which will be a challenge at this point with any QB) PJ is our best chance.

I agree, but as you know, the best player on any team is the back-up QB.  That was PJ, now it's Gachette

Isn't Denson practicing at QB with the team?  Anybody heard how he is looking?

The second half of the game the defense really did carry our team. In all honesty we beat ourselves with several turn overs and suspect tackling at key parts of the game. Although the southern piss qb and rb ran all over us, our linebackers could have done a much better job of tackling in the open field to minimize their yardage. Turnovers are a real buzzkill especially when you're trying to mount a drive at the end of the game. With that said, i still stand by PJ 100% and he should continue to get the start. USF will only get better the more he's allowed to read opposing team's defenses.
