It's supposed to look like a field of wheat blowing in the wind, which is actually a beautiful thing.

The waving wheat makes me cringe with memories of driving through Kansas.  Driving through Kansas sucks major balls.  It is THE worst state in the union to travel through.  Somehow I-70 becomes a turnpike for like a 1/2 mile so they can charge your a$$.  There is NOTHING to speak of for radio stations.  And the worts part is all you can see for f*cking miles are those god **** wheat fields (or sometimes sunflowers).  After about 7 hours of that monontonous sight, what do you get as a reward?  You're in miserey... errr Missouri.  It is absolutely f*cking maddening.  

They also have the worst bunch of highway pigs... err troopers in the US.

seriously, if you've never drove I80 through nebraska you have no idea what the worst state in the union to drive through is. I do agree with the misery part.

Never driven through them but i imagine the Dakotas have to be pretty bad.
