Zach Hermann Out for Kansas Game

USF head coach Jim Leavitt announced on Wednesday at sophomore right guard Zach Hermann has sustained a broken left foot and will not be available for the Bulls game against Kansas this weekend.  The injury is not season ending, but Coach Leavitt did not want to put a time table on his recovery.  Hermann suffered the injury at practice on Monday evening and underwent surgery Wednesday.

This is terrible.  I mean it was bound to happen, but we really don't need to lose anyone from the OL.  At least we have 5 starter-quality guys left...

I assume he'll miss through the Pitt game and be back for "homecoming" against Syracuse.

Love the way Hermann plays.  He's the only one I notice CONSISTENTLY hustling downfield to make the extra block(s).

I hope Sims can come in and do a solid job.

I might add that if you had to lose a lineman against KU, it would be best to lose a center or guard. While we do send Mortensen and Rivera on blitzes regularly through the middle, we have little experience at defensive tackle. We have size in the middle, but we lost our lone upperclassman DT to injury for a few games.

Aside from losing Grothe O-line injuries are the worst thing that can happen to us.  Not good at all
