He has become a smarter QB by far.  He really made one mistake in the game and the other INT was a miscommunication.

The deep balls are what impressed me the most.  Last year he struggled with the deep ball.  I can remember a ton of guys getting open deep and overthrowing them.  He was ON tonight and if we have he deep ball, we will have a good offense.

I agree, he made the right decision to throw the ball away a lot.  His deep passes seemed much better.  He had another pass that should have been picked off (sometime in the first half).  The mistake to throw that interception late was huge.  He has to be more aware of the game situation and understand that a sack is not a bad thing.  All and all I was very impressed with Matt's play today.  The TD pass on third down in OT was clutch - I know I didn't want to see our field goal team back on the field.

I more blame Gregory for putting him in a position to make that interception.  THe play call in that situation is stupid easy - run 3 times and try and pick-up a first, force UCF to use their 2 timeouts and worst case you punt to them and force them to score twice on a D they haven't scored on all night with every little time remaining.

I just hope his new found ability to throw the ball away won't affect his play making ability. I'm happy he started getting rid of the ball instead of risking the throws he used to but I can stand for the occasional blind spin on a defensive end.
