I met a freshmen kicker- Mike something- dont know he hasnt played--- is he redshirted or out medically?

Do you mean Maikon Bonani?

If so, here was a quote by Leavitt about him:

"Maikon Bonani has been pretty impressive," said Leavitt. "We're going to have him ready. He's going to dress and be ready to go." - Lakeland Ledger 8/26/08

Crap, put Teachey in to kick. He could probably do one heck of a lot better. Alvarado is a cancer to this team. He is too slow to the ball, kicks it too low and if it isn't strait up the middle of the field, there is no chance in hell he'll make it. Need to sit him down a while.  Reaper

Alvarado is horrible.  Why did we not go for another quick play before kicking the FG especially since we lost 5 yards for a delay of game penalty.  I still can't understand that penalty.  Very disappointing performance.

alvarado should just quit as kicker. he will never be a relevant place kicker. then he is also smart enough to kick it to burnett on the punt knowing he had been gashing us all night. that right there is bad coaching

unacceptable. We are a top 25 team now, we should not settle for this. It is going to cost us.

Should have cost us against Auburn last year and should have cost us again tonight.

Here's the thing....if Bonani REALLY isn't better than Alvarado at this point, he's not deserving of a scholarship.

But I don't buy that.

Bonani simply HAS TO BE better than Delbert at this point, because you just can't get any worse than #25.

Leavitt is just OBSESSED with being loyal to players...TO A FAULT.

It was intentional.  Delbert has a strong leg, but lacks accuracy (obvious observation); therefore, Leavitt took the penalty to decrease the angle of the kick.

You guys are getting way too emotional.

First of all...we won.  Second...none of you guys here could make that kick.  None of you.  I would bet my life's savings on it.  It's obvious to everyone, even Delbert, that he is not a place kicker, especially in clutch situations.  You could tell by his body language when the t.v. shows him on sidelines.  He is going over missing the kick in his head, rather making the kick.

Third and last...it doesn't mean you guys should trash the kid over and over.  Have some respect.  He is a fellow Bull, just like everyone here.  State the obvious, but perhaps with better taste.

:nope

Are you serious?

You're going to play that old card?

We're also not on scholarship to make kicks, son.

That is the weakest, most tired rebuttal.

it is ridiculous that we still cant make a field goal

Do we even have a back up? Shouldn't we be giving a new kicker some time on the field?

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
