Worst call of the game was calling a pass when we're up 24-10 with under 4 left.  Grothe doesn't throw that pick, we run clock & make them use timeouts and at worst punt deep into their territory. 

The problem is USF does not have that many run plays. Once you see the formation you know what coming.

Why are you guys harping on play calling when we put up over 500 yards of offense?  The offense is working fine.  They coaches need to work on situational play.

I particularly liked the 3 running back set on first and goal from the 5 yard line in the first half.  USF took the ball straight down the field by spreading out the defense and then they bunch every one up with 3 backs and go nowhere for 3 straight plays.  You would think that when the formation failed for two straight plays they might try something else. 

Also, after UCF returns a punt back for 40 yards you might consider kicking towards a sideline or kicking it high to set up a fair catch.  Oh that's right, I forgot that our coaches don't know how to make adjustments during a game. 

Tonight brough back too many memories of the Oregon debacle.

i did like that 3 running back formation, LAST YEAR. everytime i see that d*mn formation now I know exactly what is coming and so does the opponent. the thing that ticks me off me is that we tried to do it with backs not nearly as powerful as ford. put friggin kelly in there

We had a timeout...why not run a play to the center of the field?

how do you get a delay of game with a timeout???

seems that the playcalling should be run/run/run/...a first down ends the game if not punt, but AWAY from that kid.

let our D hold them on a LONG field with them needing two TD's to beat us with very little time.

Then....with 20 something seconds left and a time out we try to kick a field goal from the far left hashmarks instead of running the ball one more time to get more in the middle of the field for our already severely handicapped kicker and we keep the timeout in our pocket.  Doesn't make sense...

The play calling with 2+ minutes left was horrendous.  And don't you punt the ball out of bounds?????  When they have twice the return yards vs their offensive yards why do you kick to them?  Kick it to the cheerleaders.

On the whole, it's a win.  Let's continue to hope something changes.  maybe, someday.

2 mins and 34 secs and up by 14 all you need to do is run two running plays.  With the new 40 sec play clock, the worst case scenario is to either make then deplete their TOs or they are down to 1 minute when they take over.  

No you didn't miss anything because Gregory did this at least twice last year that almost cost us games.

yes, if you are going to blame anyone blame the coaches play calling.

They coached terrible that is for sure.  Gregory nearly gave them the game and I stilll do not understand not running the ball to the center of the field and calling to with 2 secs on the clock.  I still do not believe how that ended.

I agree, there were 15 seconds left. Plenty of time to get off a run to the middle. Better than taking the 5 yd penalty to "improve the angle."
