Wow, on rare occasion, smazza makes some sense... I don't know that I agree that we don't have anyone else, but last year when the chips were down, Gregory only called MG's number. I completely agree that Grothe can't do it alone, and the success of this team depends on who else steps up, and who else the coaches trust when the game is on the line.

Its a team game.  We have plenty of playmakers.  MG just needs to facilitate it.

Mike Ford is a weapon a lot of schools wish they had right now, and we also have an explosive young receiving corps. I am not worried.

Grothe is the QB and he is suppose to call upon his QB to make plays like throw good balls.  I can show you over a half-dozen runs on youtube in the RU, Uconn, and Cinci games where Grothe called his own number in the read option and could have handed it off to someone else.  In the option sometimes a QB gets more runs if they read it right.

Geez, you could cut the tension on this board with a spoon...

I agree completely, I think that people have a serious problem when smazza makes a point, and I don't know that he meant to do it. My only after thought was that we need someone else that bails us out when Grothe doesn't have it. For instance, Grothe made some pretty bad throws vs Cincy last year...but, we need a receiver that will step up and fight for the ball, or at least bat it down (or in that case, run the right route). I have never been critical of MG because he has had to shoulder more than his share of the load...my point was that we need someone else that can be that "go to" who everyone 'expects' to make a miraculous play when the chips are down.

I wasn't implying that Grothe shouldn't be called on to do it, but it would be nice if someone else stepped up on the offense to take the pressure off. You mentioned the UConn game, we need Hill to step up and be a guy that you absolutely know is going to make that catch for the win...or Cincy, we need Mitchell to be the guy that you absolutely know is going to come down with the ball when the game is on the line...for most of us, I would say we absolutely know when the game is on the line, we are going to get the best MG has to offer.

Alright, back to finding out what's going on with the student ticket debate... ;D

Ford will step it up and be a huge playmaker this year. Taurus Johnson will take a leap this year as well methinks.

ford is our 4th string running back right now... he doesn't care about practicing so the coaches don't want to reward him with touches.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
