I, too, am a bit surprised at USF getting ranked above Oregon after the Sun Bowl. But hey, I'll take a #19 preseason ranking any day. :D

Woot!  Grats on your ranking Bulls!  Loks like you guys are in a good position to move up nicely if everything works itself out over the course of the season.

3 of 8 BE teams in the top 25.  6 of 8 ranked or getting votes.

Not bad...

Compared to the other BCS conferences... it's less impressive than the SEC or Pac 10, but better than the rest...

SEC - 6 of 12 teams in the top 25 (4 in top 10)... 8 of 12 ranked or getting votes...

Pac 10 - 3 of 10 teams in the top 25 ... 8 of 10 ranked or getting votes...

ACC - 3 of 12 teams in the top 25... 7 of 12 ranked or getting votes...

Big Ten - 4 of 11 teams in the top 25... only 6 of 11 ranked or getting votes...

Big 12 - 5 of 12 teams in the top 25... 6 of 12 ranked or getting votes...

Pretty much a wash in comparison with the Pac-10.  We're better than them in ranking percentage, but they beat us in rank/votes.  Funny how you don't hear the term 'Big Least' from writers these days.

I think that some coaching adjustments will help the causes of UL and the Cuse.

Only 75% of the conference's teams received votes in the preseason poll?  Wow, the Big East conference really sucks...

It's great to see...but I don't give too much credence to the preseason poll for better or worse(see Michigan last year). WHat I like though is that if we take care of business against Tn-Martin and UCiF...the winner of the Kansas game gets a spot in the top ten. Gotta love those stakes.... :)

Just looked at it again and it just hit me like a ton of bricks, Miami and FSU aren't in the top 25.  

I personally do not like either, I think Miami has a better coach now but Bowden is just in it for longevity reasons if you ask me.

Its a good way to start off the year.

Oh, and thanks for the compliments on our rankings, even though I don't think we should be rated that high with 2 new QB's and 2 new coordinators.  However, We have Pitt's former DC so maybe there won't be a drop off on the defensive side of the ball.
