He wouldn't love the school as much as he LOVES USF !

His position at USF is more than a job to him - no doubt.

I would say his love for his school is only rivaled currently by Bowden(FSU), Hill(Fresno St) and Paterno(PSU).

Thank you Coach Leavitt for "Coming Home" !

Go BULLS !!!

:gobulls

please if bulls didnt over pay him he would have been gone like anyone else in his position

he needs to prove he can maintain the program at an elite level.  9 win seasons are nice, but 4 losses--- especially to teams we have no business losing to--- are not.

time to win the BE and get those 10-wins.  for elite programs, 10-win seasons are commonplace.  12-win seasons or better are the goal.  9-win seasons are a consolation prize.

Leavitt deserves all due respect for getting us this far this quickly...  but we are not "there" yet and Leavitt has yet to prove that he can get us and keep us there.

you will see the attacks of the syncophants

Fact is, 9 win seasons in a row is a accomplishment.

for a young program like USF, yes... for an elite program?  no.

Also, please show us how strong those "3 of it's best 4 teams" have done the past 2-3 years.

VTech won the ACC in 2004, beat Louisville in 2005, and won the ACC again last year.

they've had consecutive 10 and 11 win seasons since leaving the Big East...

funny that u proclaim 9 wins to be "a accomplishment," then try to belittle VTech since leaving the BEast when they haven't won less than 10 games since leaving.

Miami won back to back 9 win seasons in their first 2 years in the ACC [2004-5], and that wasn't exactly considered an accomplishment then.

Boston College won 11 games last year, 10 games the year before, and 9 games in 2005 [their first in the ACC].

I have seen Leavitt improve as a Head Coach these past 12 years. He's never been a HC before and it's a learning process and hink he has the tools. There is no reason to BULLieve he can not do it. Many schools wanted him because they BULLieve he can also.

With expected better talent in the players, I see better endings in our games.

i "BULLieve" he can do it too... what i'm saying is let's not jump the gun and act like the guy is a proven winner at the elite level when he has yet to prove that.

winning 9 games in big east isnt that much of an accomplishment

Some coaches are just GOOD...and can be successful ANYWHERE.

Look at Urban Meyer...he was successful at Bowling Green, Utah and now UF.

Saban was successful in college at Michigan St and LSU. (Jury is still out in regards to Bama).

Leavitt is probably a coach very similar to the above as that he would probably be successful almost wherever he goes...but yes...coaching a BCS team in FLA does provide a lot of advantages.

I see Big Bully's point.  However, if we were to get rid of CJL or him us, what would the next coach want?  A dining hall?  Absolutely.  Better practice fields?  Yes.  We need to get 10+ wins and conference titles, but we need to realize that we have hamstrung the staff some by not putting them on par with other teams in the Big East, much less the BCS.  We're getting there, and anything less than a Big East title this year would be disappointing, but given what CJL has done with far less we need to put the team on equal footing and see what he can do.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
