Update on Student Ticket Policy, and OUR SHIRTS 2008!!!

My understanding of the "Olympic Sports' versus the others are that Baskeball, Baseball and Football all sell Season Passes.  The "Olympic Sports' such as soccer, track and field, volleyball, etc. all are under one generic season pass.

If this is true, than baseball should be seperated like football and basketball.  And also should be considered when Priority Points are available (for non students) due to a seperate Season Ticket Package.

"Olympic" sports in college is defined as all sports except football...

I think the cheapest are around $180 per seat for Men's Hoops.

I will bet that USF St. Pete and the other campuses get the shaft.

Probably not the majority must always consider the minority. They probably allot so many to those schools first and then if they don't fill put them back to the main campus

Have a few questions for those who have the info...

1) Does everybody start at 0?

2) My fiance is still a student, but interning in Sarasota as a teacher. She will most likely only be able to make it up to campus (Tampa for her one class) once a week. The both of us have been loyal fans and have only missed one home game since we started school (who plans a wedding on a USF Home Game??? lol). I guess my question is will she get the shaft since she wont be able to attend as many 'Olympic' sports?

Thanks to all in advance!!! and go bulls!

Just to add to my previous post, I hope that seniors have an advantage over incoming freshmen. Any thoughts on that??

Ok, I like the system but have a few pointers.

1) You can reward students for going to the "Olympic sports" all you want, but  it's going to be a five minute ordeal. People will come , swipe their card, and then leave. Not to mention inflated student attendance numbers. They need to have it where the first half of the event is for admittance, and after halftime students need to swipe out to get the points. (perhaps even a few extra if you stay all the way till the end)

2) They should start off with a tiered system. Depending on number of credit hours completed at USF, you should have that many points (or some multiple of that) to start this year. I've only missed 2 home games (plus attended 2 away games) in my 3 years here at USF, can't they at least give me some retro-active advantage over this years incoming class.

3) What about away games, or USF events not at USF (like golf)? How about those holiday bonus points? Or even triple points for those who couldn't get tickets to the home football game, but instead went to the home soccer game, or home volleyball match at the same time (yes, that really happened last year)? Or maybe double points to those who go to multiple events in a day (I did women's soccer, volleyball, and men's soccer in one day, so it's not impossible)?

Everyone will ***** and moan.  It will be all right.  With this year's schedule, only the Kansas game will be difficult to get tickets to.  Maye homecoming will be rough as well.  Plus, wait until we are ranked top 10 again before we see 1000's of students missing out on tickets.  I predict that at most, your probability as a student to miss a game is 10% for a high demand game.  Student priority points will only really start to take affect NEXT season and the seasons to follow.  Then, you will see that students who are loyal to basketball, soccer, baseball will eventually be seniors and have the undeniable edge over other students.

The only thing I don't like about the policy... and it's trivial... is no more "Leavittown" b/c there won't be camping for tickets.

That was a cool happening last year.  This policy really is better a better plan, but it does have at least one effect.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
