beastiebull- you stop it

our qb play is unexceptible and should be criticized

Where did I say our QB performance was acceptable?  Where did I say that it should not be criticized.

My point was:  If the two Qb's that are currently splitting time are as horrible as they currently are, then why isn't Louis G. seeing more playing time?  Simple: because he is WORSE!  Don't you think if he were any better he would be playing?  Do you think CJL has some sort of "personal" problem with the kid?  I can assure you CJL does not have a personal problem with Louis G, he just isn't ready.  Yeah a lot of Frosh Qbs play in their first year in college.  Unfortunatly the one we have is not good enough to do so, OR ELSE HE WOULD BE PLAYING.

It's called reading comprehension.

if louis g isn't ready i blame the coaches

i think our  offensive coaches don't have a clue

you post makes assumptions about our coaches which i am not prepared to make

our offensive coaches clearly don't know capabilites of banks,g,or julmiste

Yes, we were in the mix for Shaeffer.  I think the real problem is that we didn't have a backup for Ingram in case that fell through (which it did).  I'm not sure if it was a case where we felt that strongly that we would get him or that there just wasn't anyone out there we wanted to give a scholarship ot.

I think we were expecting D T McDowell to sign with us after Ingram selected Florida on Signing day. McDowell decided on Troy State instead. Some of the bigger programs were afraid to sign him because they thought he would get drafted in baseball and would leave them hanging. As it turned out McDowell was drafted in the late rounds and will play for Troy.

As to Shaeffer, who started with the Vols as a true freshmen QB, I seriously doubt that WE would have started him given our mentality.

What ur saying is Carlton Hill & Matt Grothe do not have a chance of starting the first game?  Did M.Blackwell take over during the first game or second game of his first season?

I'm pretty sure Blackwell was a redshirt freshman and not a true freshman like Shaeffer.

I doubt that is why he didn't attend USF. There hadn't been a true freshman QB start in the SEC in 50 years.

I'm not saying we wouldn't have started him here, but just that I doubt that we would.

Louis Gachette wasn't even used against 1-AA Tenn Tech or after we were already out of it at USC, so I don't know if we will use him at all this year.

I'm still scratching my head over Evan Kraky, since Leavitt said he had improved the most this year. Then Kraky decided to quit the team after he realized that Julmiste and Banks were #1 and #2 and probably would be left sitting on the bench. Now Kraky is at UMass and he's STILL sitting on the bench behind maybe the best QB in all of 1-AA so far this year. I bet he's sorry now that he left the team.

Smazza, your point is valid about Ohio State but I disagree with you. Texas Tech loses to bad teams because they are exposed for having poor defense. USF has never really had a problem on that side of the ball - thank goodness. Our scheme doesn't suck ... it's one of the better schemes in college. We just have a really crappy set of people running it. Our offense is completely contingent on the QB getting the ball to the right person and we haven't been able to do that since Marquell left. Our scheme looked pretty good back when we were beating Pittsburgh at their house. RB and PJ are making the whole team look bad because they just can't get the job done. Our only hope is if Julmiste can turn himself around because he still has potential. Ronnie Banks has proven all too often that he just isn't very good and lacks the confidence in himself that is required to run this very good scheme.

good scheme? are you nutZ

a good scheme is able to plug in any player and elevate their play eg  Denvers Broncos running scheme- plug in any RB you get 1000 yd rusher and are competetive week in and week out, plug in a great RB you get a 1500- 2000 yd rusher.  THAT IS A GOOD SCHEME

Funny that another QB who wanted to play for USF, but didn't qualify this year is Omar Haugabook and he is now the QB for Dodge City CC. He's #2 in the nation in passing, #1 in individual Total Offense, and #6 in Individual Scoring (Non-Kickers).
