The guys on this board hating on Smith are weak. . . . . . especially three years after he went pro.

Fact is the kid was an excellent college player. . .who's upright running style gave him great vision and camouflaged his speed.  USF has never had a running back as good as him. . . . . .don't care what you say about Andre Hall.

It is also a fact that he was a productive running back on the worst professional team any of us have seen in our lifetimes (0-16).

To continue to pile on after the kid has a career threatening knee injury (being drafted by the Lions was punishment enough) is simply unbecoming.

Let it go guys.

Not sure where you're getting that from but the only one close to anything "hating" on this thread is the original poster and I don't think he knew that Smith tore his ACL ...

Who is hating on Smith?  I am not.  I merely stated the obvious, that Best is a much better RB than Smith.

are you going on potential and skill, or college stats?

smith was probably one of the biggest snubs of the 2007 heisman voting. being on a subpar team never helps (ask donald brown). the guy is good.

i think if he gets healthy, both him and javhid best will be a good tandem in ford land. anything to help take some pressure off that line and get stafford some time to throw to calvin johnson, and whomever else is gonna be there.

I got a draft question for them: Have they ever had 5 players drafted in a single year like we just did???? Soon we will have more players in the NFL meaning one less moral victory for the UCiFers...
