Steve Slaton just declared for the NFL Draft.

I really don't know why he did declare. He is going in a class with some great running backs like McFadden and J. Stewart. The scouts have even said that he is a 3rd round pick and that he isn't the quality of an NFL back.

Also Ray Rice and Kevin Smith......This year is going to be the year for Running Backs in the NFL Draft

I was thinking the same thing.  Except, with the emergence of Noel Devine, he probably knows that his carries will get a little more limited.  Plus the uncertainty of what the offense will be like with the new coaching staff, I guess he decided to go ahead and get out.. 

The draft is going to be full of running backs though.

Devine is sick but our defense has trouble with power backs more than speed backs.  We're fast enough to deny him the corner and use our speed and pursuit to corral him.  No if Devine was 6ft 230 i would be a little more concerned.
